This group collects the 19 sovereign states and territories that the atlas's own country entities already record, through each country's own SubLabel field (set when the country itself was minted and sourced), as sitting in the United Nations M49 geoscheme's Eastern Africa intermediate region. It is a single flat group under the Eastern Africa subcategory, not split further by any smaller unit, since Eastern Africa stays well under the atlas's own hundred-member threshold for a further split. It sits directly under the Eastern Africa subcategory and under the atlas's own Groups category, giving a reader a direct browse path from either the Eastern Africa subcategory page or the Groups index.
