Tai Po New Town

Eastern Asia

Tai Po New Town, also known as Tai Po Town, is a planned satellite town in Tai Po District in the New Territories of Hong Kong. It was built around the existing indigenous market towns of Tai Po Market and Tai Po Old Market, extending toward the Lam Tsuen Valley villages and toward Ting Kok and Tai Mei Tuk, and toward Nam Hang, Fung Yuen and Sha Lo Tung, with most of its land created through land reclamation. Today, Tai Po New Town is generally known simply as Tai Po.
