Duga Resa

Duga Resa is a town in Karlovac County, Croatia, about 65 kilometers southwest of Zagreb and 100 kilometers east of Rijeka, on the Mreznica river in central Croatia. First documented in 1380, it grew through industrialization in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and in 1880 became home to the first known electric generator in Croatia, built to power its textile industry. The town has a temperate continental climate and is known for its 14th-century churches of St. Antun and St. Peter and for river recreation including fishing and rafting. The 2021 census recorded 10,212 residents.
