Velika Gorica is a city in central Croatia, just south of the capital Zagreb, and serves as the administrative center of Zagreb County. The city has grown substantially as a residential and light-industrial satellite of Zagreb, with Zagreb's main international airport, Franjo Tudjman Airport, situated within its municipal area. It combines a historic town core with extensive newer suburban development tied to its proximity to the capital.
