Kotka

Kotka is a port city on the southeastern coast of Finland, at the mouth of the Kymi River on the Gulf of Finland. It has about 50,000 inhabitants, making it the 21st most populous municipality in Finland, and its historic city center sits on an island called Kotkansaari. Kotka belongs to the Kymenlaakso region and its Kotka-Hamina sub-region, and it functions as a major port and industrial center. The city received its town charter on July 16, 1879.
