Kuopio is a city in Finland and the regional capital of North Savo, located in the Finnish Lakeland region. It has a population of about 127,000 in the city proper, making it the eighth most populous municipality in the country, while the surrounding Kuopio sub-region is home to roughly 148,000 people.
