Poti

Poti is a port city in Georgia on the eastern coast of the Black Sea, in the region of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti in the west of the country. It was built near, and takes its name from, the ancient Greek colony of Phasis, and traces its origins to the 7th century BC. Since the early 20th century Poti has grown into a major port and industrial center, and it is also home to a principal naval base and the headquarters of the Georgian Navy. As of January 1, 2024 the city had a population of 41,170 across an area of 65.8 square kilometers.
