Bodefeld is a village in the municipality of Schmallenberg, in the Hochsauerlandkreis (High Sauerland district) of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It lies at about 488 meters elevation in the northeastern part of Schmallenberg, on the Palme river, and had 1,102 inhabitants as of December 31, 2021. Until the end of 1974 it was its own municipality, Freiheit Bodefeld, within Amt Fredeburg, before merging into Schmallenberg. The village borders eight neighboring communities, including Gellinghausen and Westernbodefeld, and its Saints Cosmas and Damian Church is documented as far back as 1905.
