Lahnstein is a verband-free town in the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis district of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, at the confluence of the Lahn and Rhine rivers, about 6 kilometers south of Koblenz. It was created in 1969 by the merger of the previously independent towns of Oberlahnstein and Niederlahnstein, and had a population of 18,030 in 2020.
