Rosenheim

Rosenheim is an independent city in the Upper Bavaria region of Bavaria, Germany, at the confluence of the Inn and Mangfall rivers, with a population of about 65,274 in 2024 that makes it the third largest city in Upper Bavaria. It began as the Roman military station Pons Aeni around 15 AD, guarding important trade routes, and grew through the Middle Ages into a prosperous market town on the river trade, receiving official market rights in 1328. Rosenheim became a major center of salt production in the 19th century and an important railway junction, was heavily damaged by bombing in the Second World War, and has since been rebuilt into a city known for its wood industry, colleges and Grunderzeit era architecture.
