Abae was an ancient town in the northeastern corner of ancient Phocis in Greece, near the frontier of the Opuntian Locrians, said by tradition to have been built by the Argive hero Abas. The site was renowned in antiquity for its oracle of Apollo Abaeus, consulted by figures such as Croesus and Mardonius, and excavations at nearby Kalapodi have confirmed occupation continuing from the Early Bronze Age through the Roman period.
