Athenae Diades

Athenae Diades, also known as Athenai Diades, was a town of ancient Euboea, in what is now Greece, near the promontory of Cenaeum. It was said to have been founded by the Athenians, or, according to the historian Ephorus, by Dias, a son of Abas. The names Athenae and Athenai were also native names for Athens itself. In the 5th century BC the town belonged to the Delian League, and by the end of that century it had come under the territory of the city of Oreus, though it recovered its independence early in the 4th century BC, when it is documented as one of the founding members of the Second Athenian League.
