Chalaeum, also known as Chalaion or Chaleion, was an ancient town on the coast of the Ozolian Locrians in central Greece, near the border with Phocis. During the Peloponnesian War it was one of several towns forced to provide hostages to the Spartan army in 426 BC, and inscriptions record an agreement it signed with the neighboring city of Tritaea allowing residents of each town to own or lease land in the other. Its site has been located near the modern town of Galaxidi.
