Copae, or Kopai, was an ancient Greek polis in Boeotia on the northern shore of Lake Copais, which took its own name from the town, at a site near the village of Kastro, formerly called Topolia. Homer includes it in the Iliad's Catalogue of Ships as part of the kingdom of Thersander, and it belonged to the Boeotian League. The traveler Pausanias found the town still standing in his own time, with temples to Demeter, Dionysus, and Sarapis.
