Drys was an ancient Greek town of Thrace, about four kilometers east of Mesembria in what is now Greece. Ancient sources credit the Athenian general Iphicrates with founding or residing in the city, which belonged to the Delian League and appears in an Athenian decree of 422 or 421 BCE. During one conflict a besieged Spartan garrison under Ischolaus is said to have demoralized its Athenian attackers, led by Chabrias, by deliberately tearing down part of its own defensive wall. The Periplus of Pseudo-Scylax lists Drys among the neighbors of Maroneia, Dicaea, and Abdera.
