Haliartus, also known as Haliartos, was a town of ancient Boeotia in Greece and one of the cities of the Boeotian League, situated on the southern side of Lake Copais in a pass between the mountains and the lake. It is named in the Catalogue of Ships in Homer's Iliad, which calls it grassy for its well-watered meadows, and tradition held that it was founded by Haliartus, a son of Thersander and grandson of Sisyphus.
