Lepreum

Lepreum, also called Lepreon, Lepreus, or Lepreos, was an ancient Greek city-state in Triphylia, a district of Elis, built around two citadels about 40 stadia from the sea at the west end of Mount Minthi. It became the capital of the Triphylia region in the Classical and Hellenistic ages, and some scholars have identified it with the mythical city of Aepy described by Homer in the Iliad; its ruins have been excavated near the modern village of Lepreo.
