Maenalus (Arcadia)

Maenalus, also called Mainalos, was a town of ancient Arcadia and the capital of the district of Maenalia, which became part of the territory of Megalopolis after that city was founded. By the time of the traveler Pausanias, Maenalus lay in ruins, though he recorded a temple of Athena, a stadium and a hippodrome still standing at the site.
