Ocalea, also spelled Okalea, was an ancient town in Boeotia, Greece, lying in a narrow plain bounded by the heights of Haliartus to the east and Mount Tilphossium to the west, roughly midway between two neighboring towns; its site is tentatively placed near modern Evangelistria. It was dependent on the larger city of Haliartus and appears in Homer's Iliad as a contributor of forces to the Trojan War, and Greek legend associated the site with Apollo, Heracles, and Rhadamanthys, who was said to have settled there after his exile from Crete.
