Oesyme, also called Oisyme or Aisyme, was an ancient Greek polis in Thrace, later part of Macedonia, situated between the Strymon and Nestos rivers near what is now Nea Peramos, Greece. A colony of Thasos, it also functioned as an emporion, or trading post, and was known in antiquity for its high-quality wine. After the Spartan general Brasidas took nearby Amphipolis in 424 BCE, Oesyme sided with Sparta, and the city was later renamed Emathia following its occupation by Philip II of Macedon.
