Olous was an ancient Greek city on the island of Crete, located near the site of the present-day town of Elounda. A maritime settlement with its own harbour, it maintained ties with other major Cretan and Aegean cities including Knossos and Rhodes. Much of the ancient city has since subsided beneath the sea, and its submerged wall foundations can still be seen by visitors swimming in Elounda Bay.
