Phagres

Phagres was a Greek city in ancient Thrace, later part of Macedon, in the region between the Strymon and Nestos rivers known as Edonis or Pieris. It was founded by colonists from Thasos and, along with Galepsus and Apollonia, may have been occupied and destroyed by Philip II of Macedon after his capture of Amphipolis, though archaeological finds show it survived into the Hellenistic and Roman periods.
