Phigalia, also known as Phigaleia, Phigalea, or Phialia, was an ancient Greek city in the southwestern corner of ancient Arcadia, in the region of Parrhasia near the border of Messenia, built on elevated rocky terrain among some of the highest mountains of the Peloponnese. A modern village of the same name, formerly called Pavlitsa until the early twentieth century, now stands near the site.
