Rhizus

Rhizus, also spelled Rhizous, was a town and polis of Magnesia in ancient Thessaly whose inhabitants were resettled by Demetrios Poliorketes at Demetrias when he founded that city. The Periplus of Pseudo-Scylax places Rhizus outside the Pagasaean Gulf, on the open Aegean shore, and by Strabo's time it had become a village dependent on Demetrias. Coins minted by Rhizus survive, dated to the fourth century BC.
