Sicyon

Sicyon, also spelled Sikyon, was an ancient Greek city-state in the northern Peloponnese between Corinth and Achaea, in what is now the regional unit of Corinthia. An ancient monarchy at the time of the Trojan War, the city was ruled by a series of tyrants during the Archaic and Classical periods before becoming a democracy in the 3rd century BC. Its remains lie just west of the modern village of Sikyona.
