Thronium, also called Thronion, was an ancient Greek town in Greece and the chief town of the Locrians, situated on the Boagrius river about 20 stadia from the coast and 30 stadia from Scarpheia. It is named in the Catalogue of Ships in Homer's Iliad, which places it near the Boagrius, a river the geographer Strabo describes as sometimes dry and sometimes flowing at up to two plethra wide.
