Tithorea

Tithorea was an ancient city in Phocis, in what is now central Greece, regarded as the successor settlement to Neon, though ancient authors disagreed on whether it occupied the same site, with Pausanias holding that it did and Plutarch's account suggesting the two were distinct locations. Its ruins lie at the foot of Mount Parnassus beside the modern village of the same name, which was renamed from Velitsa to recall the ancient city.
