Lajosmizse is a town in Bács-Kiskun county, Hungary, at the terminus of a railway line from Budapest, with a population recorded as 11,053 in the 2009 census. The settlement took its current name in 1902, gained municipality status in 1970 and was elevated to town rank in 1993. Its Jewish community, formally organized in 1898, was confined to a ghetto established in April 1944 and deported to Auschwitz during the Second World War.
