Solt is a town in Bács-Kiskun county, Hungary, with a population of 6,721 recorded in 2008 across an area of 132.67 square kilometers. Roman artifacts have been found in the area and written documentation of Solt dates back to 1145. Near the town stands a high power medium wave transmitter built in 1977 with an output of 2000 kilowatts, described as the most powerful radio transmitter in Europe.
