Courmayeur is a town and comune in the autonomous Aosta Valley region of Italy, serving as one of the two principal bases on either side of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe. It had a population of 2,602 as of December 2022 across an area of 210 square kilometers, with elevations ranging from 1,224 to 4,810 meters. Situated on the southern side of Mont Blanc, Courmayeur developed into a popular tourist destination built around alpinism and its proximity to the tallest peak in Europe.
