Ferrara

Ferrara is a city and comune in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, and the capital of the Province of Ferrara. It had 132,009 inhabitants as of 2016, and sits 44 kilometers northeast of Bologna on the Po di Volano, a branch channel of the Po River, about 5 kilometers north of the city. Its broad streets and numerous Renaissance-era palaces date from when it hosted the court of the House of Este, and it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its beauty and cultural importance.
