Imachara was an ancient city of Sicily, in what is now Italy, mentioned repeatedly by the Roman orator Cicero among the island's municipal towns and also noted by Pliny the Elder. Its precise location remains the subject of scholarly debate, though the town of Mirabella Imbaccari is still known in Sicilian as Macara and its residents as macarisi, names that appear to descend directly from the ancient one.
