Trebula Mutusca

Trebula Mutusca, also spelled Trebula Mutuesca, was an ancient city of the Sabines at the site of modern Monteleone Sabino, about three kilometers east of the Via Salaria in Italy's Latium region. Rome conquered the area in 290 BCE, and the settlement later developed into a municipium during the Augustan era, with surviving remains of an amphitheatre, baths, a forum, and a temple to the goddess Feronia. The poet Virgil referred to the town's olive production, and a local archaeological museum in Monteleone Sabino now displays finds from the site.
