Tusculum was an ancient Roman city in the Alban Hills, in the Latium region of Italy. It was most famous in Roman times for the many luxurious patrician country villas built nearby, close enough to Rome for convenience yet a comfortable distance away, notably the villas of Cicero and Lucullus.
