Maastricht

Maastricht is a city and municipality in the southeastern Netherlands, the capital and largest city of the province of Limburg. It lies on both banks of the Meuse river at the point where the river is joined by the Jeker, with Mount Saint Peter largely within its municipal borders. The city sits adjacent to the border with Belgium and is part of the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion, an international metropolitan area of about 3.9 million people that also includes the nearby German and Belgian cities of Aachen, Liege and Hasselt.
