Czerwionka-Leszczyny

Czerwionka-Leszczyny is a town in Poland's Silesian Voivodeship, in Rybnik County, formed through the merger of the towns of Czerwionka and Leszczyny with the villages of Czuchów and Dębieńsko, each of which keeps a distinct identity within the town. Archaeological evidence shows human settlement in the area dating to the eighth century BC. Once centered on the Dębieńsko coal mine, which closed in 2000 after employing residents for over a century, the town has since become a commuter center serving the nearby cities of Rybnik, Gliwice and Katowice. Czerwionka-Leszczyny had 27,683 inhabitants as of 31 December 2021.
