Karpacz is a spa town and ski resort in Karkonosze County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, with a population of about 4,500. It is situated in the Karkonosze Mountains and is one of the more important centres in the region for mountain hiking and skiing, including ski jumping, with growing importance as a tourism destination presented as an alternative to the Alps.
