Koziegłowy is a town of about 2,455 residents in Myszkow County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland, with medieval roots as part of the Krakow Voivodeship of Lesser Poland. In 1519 a local nobleman transferred the village and its castle to the Archbishop of Krakow, placing it in the Duchy of Siewierz, and it received a town charter from King Stanisław August Poniatowski on 27 April 1792. It passed through Prussian annexation in 1795, the Duchy of Warsaw and Russian-controlled Congress Poland, lost its town charter under Russian rule in 1870, and regained town status in 1949, and today it is the seat of Gmina Koziegłowy.
