Orzesze

Orzesze is a town in the Silesian Voivodeship of southern Poland, in Mikołów County near Katowice, dating from the Middle Ages as a settlement but remaining a village until it was granted town rights in 1962. It borders the Upper Silesian metropolitan association known as Metropolis GZM, home to about two million people, and lies within the wider Katowice urban area of roughly 2.7 million and the Katowice-Ostrava metropolitan area of about 5.3 million. The town comprises two districts, Jaśkowice and Zawada, along with seven smaller administrative sołectwos. Orzesze had 21,043 inhabitants as of 30 June 2019.
