Swinoujscie

Swinoujscie is a port city in Poland's West Pomeranian Voivodeship, spread across three islands, Usedom, Wolin and Karsibor, where the Swina Strait connects the Baltic Sea to the Szczecin Lagoon. Founded as the Prussian town of Swinemunde in 1748, it became Polish territory after the Second World War, following heavy destruction in 1945. Today it functions as a major ferry port to Scandinavia and hosts a liquefied natural gas terminal, and it is known locally for having the widest beach in Poland and a lighthouse described as the tallest brick lighthouse in the world.
