Tarnobrzeg

Tarnobrzeg is a city in south-eastern Poland, on the east bank of the Vistula River, part of Subcarpathian Voivodeship since 1999. It was granted Magdeburg rights in 1593 and was long owned by the Tarnowski family, remaining a small town for centuries. It served as capital of Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998 and grew substantially after the Second World War as the center of an industrial area built on rich sulfur deposits.
