Wadowice

Wadowice is a town in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in southern Poland, about 50 kilometres southwest of Kraków, with 17,455 inhabitants as of 2022. It sits on the Skawa river near its confluence with the Vistula, in the eastern part of the Silesian Foothills, and is known as the birthplace of Karol Wojtyła, later Pope John Paul II, and of Godwin von Brumowski, Austria-Hungary's leading flying ace of the First World War with 35 credited victories and an additional 8 possible.
