Zamosc is a historical city in southeastern Poland, in the southern part of Lublin Voivodeship, about 90 kilometers from Lublin and 247 kilometers from Warsaw, with a population of 62,021 in 2021. It was founded in 1580 by Jan Zamoyski, Grand Chancellor of Poland, who envisioned it as an ideal city, and its historical centre was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1992 as a unique example of a Renaissance town in Central Europe. The city lies about 20 kilometers from Roztocze National Park.
