Kostanjevica na Krki is a small town in the Lower Carniola region of southern Slovenia, in the northern foothills of the Gorjanci Hills near the Croatian border. Its centre sits on an island in the Krka River, earning it the nickname the Venice of Lower Carniola, and it is the seat of the Municipality of Kostanjevica na Krki.
