Chystiakove, also known by its former name Torez, is a city in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, currently disputed between Ukraine and Russia. It has long been a center of the regional coal industry, with much of its economy built on mining even as the number of employed miners has fallen in recent years, and its population was recorded at 53,462.
