Kovel is a city in Volyn Oblast in northwestern Ukraine, serving as the administrative center of Kovel Raion within the oblast, with a population of 67,575. The Chelm-Kovel railway connects the city to Chelm in Poland and forms the longest standard-gauge railway link between Ukraine and the rest of Europe.
