Adamstown

Adamstown is the capital and only settlement of the Pitcairn Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the southern Pacific Ocean, and its roughly 35 residents as of 2023 make up the entire population of the archipelago, since every other island in the group is uninhabited. It was named after John Adams, the last surviving mutineer from HMS Bounty, whose British crew and Tahitian companions resettled the island in 1790; the town connects to its jetty by a path known as the Hill of Difficulty. It is counted among the smallest national capitals in the world by population.
