Heath

Grasslands and Savannas

A heath is a shrubland habitat that grows mainly on free draining, infertile, acidic soils, characterised by open, low growing woody vegetation. It is closely related to moorland, which generally describes higher ground heaths found in cooler, damper climates, especially in Great Britain.
