Lake Khovsgol

The largest lake by volume in Mongolia, a deep freshwater lake in the country's far north near the Russian border, sometimes called the younger sister of nearby Lake Baikal for its clarity and geological origin. It holds roughly one percent of the world's fresh water despite its comparatively modest surface area.
