Lake Issyk-Kul

Lakes

A large mountain lake in the Tian Shan range of Kyrgyzstan, among the largest alpine lakes in the world by volume. Its name means warm lake in the local language, referring to the fact that it rarely freezes despite its high elevation and cold surroundings.
